Art historian Anna Koshcheeva analyses the various ways the ‘image of woman’ has been constructed in Lao art over the past century, and how the changing ‘image of woman’ has been used within the wider sphere of nation-building. She references the work of a number of Lao artists, past and present, to illustrate her argument.

As always, doors open in the meeting room at Kualao Restaurant at 7pm so come in early, grab a drink, and get ready for another night of stimulating discourse with Cultural Studies Series.
